Today, the ability to throw knives, often becomes a fad or a hobby, an interesting pastime, a sport. And, nevertheless, those which wish to acquire good skills of knife throwing can quite easily find professionals who are professionally engaged in this business, and gladly offer their advice to a novice knife thrower.
It is not difficult to guess that the major sports facilities in this case is itself throwing knife, well, the target is not difficult to find in an urban setting, or even at home. So much for the amateur to professional occupations throwing weapons are so-called “chivalry” clubs or other establishments of military-historical reconstructions. Usually there is not just learning to use weapons, but also produce it, and the participants tend to use knives of their personal workmanship.
There is a certain stereotype about how a professional throwing knife must look like, they are quite different in form and weight, balance, decoration, materials, and making up stuff. But there is some indication of what a throwing knife is in general. Usually, it is a narrow blade to the handle in half. The total length of an average of 10 to 20 cm blade itself can be either unilateral, bilateral and sharpening, but the angle must be sharp, otherwise the knife will be bad to enter the goal. The whole knife is made of metal, and even its grip, it can not be, for example, made of wood or bone. But for convenience, sometimes, they twist the handle with tow rope.
The main thing to note when choosing a knife – it’s balancing. Beginners and amateurs are better to cjoose throwing knives with the center of gravity in the middle. In the “middle” balancing, the center of gravity is in the center of the knife both by the length and width. At knife-shifted relative to the length of the blade balanced center of gravity should remain centered relative to its width.
To find a good throwing knife in the free market is hard enough. It can be ordered individually in the professional throwers club, but it will be more expensive, but better quality and with all the requirements. Higher quality knives are purchased, usually at resorts such as Turkey or Bulgaria (it is cheaper there), but in Spain or Italy, is more expensive. For starters, you can get a good throwing knife with a mean balanced and firm grip in the ordinary weapon shop.
