Serbian Army Armament

After the Socialist Federal Republic of Yugoslavia was divided into six republics, not only Serbia, which included these two autonomous provinces like Kosovo and Metohija and Vojvodina, but its army has also undergone some changes. These changes relate in particular to the arming of the republic, because after the partition of Yugoslavia, Serbia got no more than 30% of weapon those years.

At the moment, Serbia has close cooperation with many countries (especially Russia) for the modernization of its weaponry.

In addition to television and radio communications, antenna construction, great attention is paid directly to arming of personnel, soldiers, namely the introduction of a new type of small arms – automatic M-21 (5.65 caliber). This kind of automatic weapon is widely used for many years in the armed forces of NATO. In addition emerging types of camouflage and accessories (shoes, backpacks, chemical protection, helmets, flak jackets) are used. New training simulators and benefits will be indispensable for the soldiers for training. At the tactical and combat training simulators will be used, such as the MiG-29 and G-4.

At the moment Serbian Army has:

BVP.M.80, M.84 tanks, T-55 T-34 armored personnel carriers (VOV.VRM.86, M.60RV, BTR-50PK) ACS “Pink”, mortars M.68 / M .69, UBM.52/M.74 / M.75, PU MLRS “Orkan” and «Plamenj», recoiless guns and antiaircraft guns. This is an incomplete list, which undoubtedly will be updated with the latest developments and other innovations of Serbian Army equipment.
